Without a curtain: theatre in teacher education between body, heart and movement
Abstract
: Senza Sipario is a symbolic and physical place that represents the heart of our school, where teacher training has become essential for both professional and personal growth. This approach aims to create learning environments centered on the educational relationship with students. The theater workshop serves as the guiding thread for various activities, all focused on expressing emotions and thoughts through the body, an instrument of communication and meaningful learning. We believe that theater can be a powerful tool for students, and involving teachers in “doing theater together” can promote methodological change, making them the protagonists of an innovative school. For this reason, we have invested in building a conscious educational community that recognizes its potential, fostering networks of collaboration and moments of dialogue. The goal is to value each student’s uniqueness and provide emotional, didactic, and human support. Through tailored pathways, teachers have experienced the importance of emotional intelligence, which helps in making better decisions, building lasting relationships, and creating more meaningful and well-being-oriented learning environments.
